Tot lots KC22 and KC23

We visited tot lots KC22 and KC23 on Tuesday. Our first visit to a tot lot that we had to drive to. Fortunately, the Kings Contrivance Community Association website has a website (http://www.kingscontrivancecommunityassociation.org/node/40) that lists a street location for each tot lot. That will definitely help us locate the tot lots in Kings Contrivance!

KC22 is right off of Shaker Dr,  almost across the street from the Kings Contrivance Restaurant.
The one con for this location is that it's close to Shaker Drive, and if your kids are a runners, you'll have to keep an eye on them.
This tot lot has one baby swing and 4 regular swings. The slide is plastic, and instead of steps going up to it, there's a ramp. The kids seemed to like the ramp. The slide is maybe 6 feet high. There are 2 bouncy animals (sheep and zebra). There's a small sandbox. There was also a small balance beam. My 2 year old liked the balance beam, even though she had to hold my hand. The balance beam was less than a foot off the ground, so slightly older kids should be able to do it with little or no help.

KC22 was pretty close to a well traveled road which made us a little uncomfortable. The swings had short chains so it was a bit of a jump for us, as grown ups, to sit on. The sandbox was toyless and the monkey bars were high and made from the thin, challenging bars. The balance beam, bouncy balance platform, and bouncy animals were in good condition. The main play structure had a metal ladder in addition to the ramp. While there are no bathrooms around, there was a bench, a regular trashcan and a recycle bin, and nice shady tree covering.

KC23 is an easy walk from KC22. If you're looking for less than a walk, it's closer to Goodin Circle. This tot lot is smaller than KC22, but our kids had fun.
It has one baby swing and one regular swing. The slide is a little shorter, maybe about 5 feet high. There are 2 bouncy animals, and a small sandbox.  For kids not interested in the tot lot, the kids can run up and down the path!

KC23 was very sunny! The only way up to the slide is by steps, and there is a fun area underneath for good imaginative play. The sandbox was also empty, but there was a bench and a regular trashcan. The path from KC22 to KC23 continue on to another (KC28) located at MacGill's Common Pool but we have yet to explore that one.
