RH23, RH24, RH25

We visited 3 tot lots in River Hill today, May 3, 2018.

We started at RH23. It is accessible from both Early Lilacs Path and Floating Clouds Path. This is a nice, multi level tot lot. There is a little bouncy car and a tunnel. There are 4 big kid swings on one beam, and in a separate area 2 baby swings. The baby swings are a bit away from everything else, which is nice for keeping the big kids away. There is also a tire swing, which was very popular with our kids. They needed a little help getting on, but then had a blast. There is a small sandbox. There are steps up to the slide, which is about  feet high and goes straight down. However, the bottom of the slide is at least 18 inches off the ground and my toddler had a few rough landings, basically falling off the slide onto her bottom. So, watch the little ones as they slide down. There are 2 benches to sit on. It was in pretty full sun while we were there. However, there are a lot of trees surrounding it, and I suspect when the leaves fill in for the summer it will be at least a bit more shaded.

Next we walked to RH24, which was about a 5 minute walk on the path. If you wanted to drive directly here, the path is on Laurel Leaves Ln. There were 2 baby swings on one beam, and 4 baby swings on another beam. The big kid swings were a bit high off the ground. There was a nice riding carousel, which again, the kids loved riding on. There's a small sandbox and monkey bars. The slide structure here was one of my favorites. It was a very nice size. There's a large ramp going up to the slide, as well as a ladder on the other side to climb. The slide itself is plastic, about 6 1/2 feet high and has a couple of bumps going down. Again, the bottom of the slide was almost 2 feet off the ground, so watch the little ones going down. However, the bounces/bumps do help slow them down. 2 benches to sit on. It was very sunny here, and didn't look like much shade would come in over the summer.

The third tot lot we visited was RH25. This was about a 7 minute walk from RH24. Parking for RH25 is on Indian Summer Drive or Summer Sky Path. This tot lot also had a tunnel and a balance bounce to stand on. There's a balance beam of two different heights - but it was a little narrow. Here again the baby swings and big kid swings were on separate beams. 2 baby swings and 4 big kid swings (yet again a bit high off the ground). The slide structure had steps going up as well as a chain link rope to climb up. The plastic slide was about 5 1/2 feet high and had a couple of bounces going down. There are also monkey bars attached to the slide structure. There are 2 benches to sit on and again, another sunny tot lot.
