KC15 and KC16

We visited KC15 and KC16 on August 24, 2018.

We started at KC16, which can be accessed from either Yellow Bonnet Pl or Broadcloth Way. This is a pretty well shaded tot lot, but there are small spots of sunlight. There's a square sandbox right in the front, one side of which edges right up to a small hill going down. Just watch kids sitting on the side there.  There are 2 swingset beams here, one has 3 big kid swings, and the other is for 2 baby swings. However, at this time the baby swings are not there.  There's a nice large slide structure here, with a long slide, probably close to 7 feet high, plastic and going straight down. The bottom of the slide is a couple of feet off the ground. There are big wide steps going up to the slide as well as a metal rope ladder in the back. Also in the back are some monkey bars.  There are 2 benches to sit on.

We walked to KC15 next. This is a 10-15 minute walk, but it is all along the paths, and is rather enjoyable if your kids are up for it. If you were to go directly  to KC15 the closest street in New Grace Mews. Once again there are 2 swingset beams. The first has 4 big kid swings, and the second is for 2 baby swings, but again, they are currently down for maintenance.  There's a nice sandbox with a few toys. There's a small wooden balance platform. There's another large slide structure with a big ramp going up to the slide. The slide itself is plastic, about 6 feet high and has a couple of bumps going down. There is also metal ladder on the side to climb up to the slide. Once again, there are 2 benches to sit on. This tot lot is pretty well shaded, but there are a few sunny pockets.

WL1 and WL2

We visited WL01 and WL02 on August 2, 2018.

We started at WL1. There are a few options for parking, I parked on Stoneboat Row, but you could also park on Snowy Reach or Reedy Brook Ln. The walk from each street is about the same. WL1 is a sunny tot lot - there is really hardly any shade here at all. On one beam there is a big kid swing and a baby swing. There are steps going up to slide, which is about 4 1/2 feet high, plastic, and goes straight down. There is a nice sized sandbox, which had some pails, trucks and scoops in it. There are also 3 bouncy animals. There are 2 benches to sit on. Near the swings we saw some mushrooms growing.

We decided to walk to WL02. It was a 10-12 minute walk along the paths. Not a long walk for adults, but it can seem long to little ones. There is one bouncy animal here. The sandbox had some toys in it. The slide structure looked newly built or repaired - the wood was definitely not as aged as others we've seen. The steps going up also weren't the same wood I've seen at others. However, I did notice that the steps were a little slippery since it had rained last night. The plastic slide is about 4 1/2 feet high and had a bounce going down.  On one wooden beam there were 2 big kid swings and one baby swing. This was a very well shaded tot lot. There are 2 benches to sit on. The closest parking is on Homecoming Lane. Other close streets are Downwest Ride and Downwest Ride.

LR17

We visited LR17 on August 1, 2018.

LR17 is located just off of Stonecutter Rd, and is visible from the street. (As we pulled up my daughter yelled "I see it!").  We spent over 2 hours here, so it's definitely a fun tot lot. There is a square sandbox with toys in it. There are 3 bouncy animals and a tunnel. There's a nice set of monkey bars, but again, they are very high off the ground. The monkey bars were also the only part of the tot lot that seemed to be consistently in the sun. The slide structure has a ramp going up and a metal ladder on the side. The slide is about 5 1/2 feet high, plastic, and goes straight down. The slide is not super high off the ground, but was high enough for my toddler to land flat on her bottom a few times. On one beam there are 3 big kid swing and 2 baby swings.  The big kid swings are of varying heights and not as high off the ground as others that I've seen. This was a pretty well shaded tot lot, at least in the morning.
